The 003 is a jazz size, small guitar pick | .86″ wide, .98" tall, 1.5mm thick
The 003 XL is just a little bigger than the 003. | .98″ wide, 1.13" tall, 1.5mm thick
Yes, this pick is the same size and shape as the one it looks like.
I love the 003! Its size, shape, and feel make it much easier for alternate picking than other picks I've used. I have experimented with many other picks similar in size and shape to the 003, but the Gravity is now my favorite!
I have many Gravity Picks in my collection. I got a 003 Gold 1mm when they came out I was stoked. Then I tried 003XL. The extra size has really opened things up. Gold 1mm and now the standard red 003XL. Thanks Chris and team!
I was a Jazz III player for around 12 years before switching to Gravity Picks’ 003. I actually tested some of Gravity’s picks when they were doing market research before launching. It took me a long time to order some because the cost is higher than Jazz III’s, but I really shouldn’t have worries or waited. I purchased two polished and and two unpolished 003’s around a year and a half ago and the two that I’ve used still look brand new and have absolutely no signs of wear, unlike Jazz 3’s, which I’d always wear the edge off within a couple of months. They also accentuate the detail of playing and the snap of the strings a little more than their red and black counterpart, and every note comes alive with much more clarity. By some miracle I’ve managed not to lose any of these either! I think the higher cost has actually made me take better care of them!
Thanks Gravity, these picks are a joy to play!
I have played Dunlop Jazz III picks for forty years. I have tried many different picks over the past decades. I always returned to the Jazz III. Since I got the gravity 003 pick, it’s been two weeks since I played with a Jazz III and I don’t miss it. Thanks Gravity.
Long time picker. Played standard for many years before experimenting with Jazz III nylon style. Love the precision but don't like the ridged feel. Decided to give these a try. With acrylics it's always been hit or miss. The bevels were either too sharp or blunt. The connection to the strings could get that nasty chirp.
With the 003 series, I get the best of everything. The feel of these are wonderful. No slippage but totally smooth, organic feeling. The bevels are just right. Not too sharp or blunt. And no chirp at all! Love these!
