POLISHED VS MASTER FINISH
The bevels on each pick are shaped on a grinding wheel which creates rough bevels. Those bevels are then polished or left unpolished (which we call ‘Master Finish’).
The Polished version glides across the strings with very little effort.
The Master Finish (unpolished) version is a bit brighter and creates a different release off the string. It allows you to ‘dig in’ a bit more. It is just a personal preference.
The minimum thickness for the grip holes is 2mm. We cannot offer the grip holes in the 1.5mm thickness because they can break easily. I apologize for the inconvenience. Please try the 2mm. Most players are able to adjust up to the 2mm.
Tradition leans toward flexible picks for tenor banjo, but I love my blue gravity acrylic (striker xl2) for fast and easy tremolos - I feel as if I have a “platform” from which to pick accurately and efficiently. Works well on mandolin also! The 3 turned out to be a bit too thick for me, but the 2 is perfect.
I got 4 different picks not knowing exactly what I was looking for. The only possible complaint is my choice. Every single one of the picks is an amazing piece of work. The 2mm Speed Bevel is the greatest pick I have ever used. It works perfectly for me on guitar or bass. I truly love it.
All love for the Gravity Stealth XL in 4mm...hole in the middle, even better! Gotta have them!
Love the pick, especially the elliptical hole version. Totally stays put. I have some nerve damage that affects my grip strength. This helps better than any of the several picks that have grip features. The symmetrical shape creates a more mild angle which to me just seems faster. And the large size is a plus for large hands.
I cant imagine using any other pick although i do plan to try out some different sizes. Great release on the strings
